The wholesome goodness of our handcrafted soap is now available for your hair! Shampoo bars are an all-natural conditioning shampoo in a solid bar form. This is real shampoo, but in a solid bar. Although the process for making a shampoo bar is the same as making soap, our shampoo bar recipes are specially formulated with natural plant oils and exotic butters to nourish your hair and scalp; they are not simply renamed soaps.
If you are not accustomed to solid shampoo bars, the concept may sound a bit strange at first, but they are WONDERFUL! Super-rich with loads of fluffy lather, our natural shampoo bars are made in small batches using recipes meticulously developed to naturally clean and condition your scalp and leave hair soft, shiny, clean. Most of all, they will leave your hair healthy. Our shampoo bars contain no artificial fragrances, colors, preservatives, detergents, alcohol, urea, formaldehyde, sodium laurel sulfate, DEA, propylene glycol - or any of the other synthetic hair care additives commonly found in commercial shampoo. Each of our shampoo bars contain a different blend of natural plant oils, essential oils, and herb infused oils. No two recipes are the same.
How do I use a solid shampoo bar? Couldn't be simpler - get your hair very wet and then massage the bar against your hair until you work up a rich lather. Some people say it is easier to rub the bar between your hands to work up some lather, then rub your hands directly on your hair. Work the lather into your scalp and rinse thoroughly. Be sure that you really get a good lather and rinse, rinse, rinse!
Repeat if you like. If you like, you can wash your hair with natural shampoo everyday! It cleans thoroughly without drying or coating your hair or scalp. Dry and style your hair as normal and then enjoy how shiny and clean it looks.
You have to experiment with your unique hair type. I have long, very fine hair.
You hair initially will feel squeaky clean and almost rough; nothing like it does after conventional shampoo and conditioner. However, as it dries, you will be astounded at how soft it is. I have never been able to use commercial shampoo without conditioner. In the winter or if I have been swimming or spending a lot of time in the sun, I will warm a dab of our Sweet Orange Hair Balm in my palms and work it through the ends of my wet, freshly-washed hair. I have naturally medium curly hair, so I use more hair balm and a diffuser if I want my hair to be very curly. I've also found I don't need to shampoo my hair every day or every other day. Because I am not stripping all the oils out of my hair, my scalp doesn't produce as much oil, and now I rarely need to wash my hair more than once or twice a week unless I want to. In between shampoos, I rinse my hair for 5-10 minutes with warm water. No oily hair, no stinky hair. It's fabulous.
